This morning at Meta Connect, in partnership with EssilorLuxottica we unveiled the next generation of our Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses collection. We have redesigned them from scratch to improve all the basic features of the previous generation and add new features that have never been found on a pair of Smart glasses earlier. Prices start at USD 299. Pre-orders are available now at meta.com and ray-ban.com, and the smart glasses will be available to purchase on the internet and in stores on the 17th of October.
Since the launch of our first generation of smart glasses
created in partnership together with EssilorLuxottica Millions of photos have
been taken and shared. From birthday parties and music festival celebrations to
first steps, graduations, and beyond Ray-Ban Meta
smart glasses liberate you from the restrictions of a handheld camera.
Instead of holding the world at arm's distance (or even worse than that,
missing the excitement completely while you struggle to use your smartphone's
lock screen) the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses allow you to capture a picture or
video clip with your unique perspective which allows you to not just relive the
moment and relive the moment, but live the moment also.
We've redesigned our next generation glasses from scratch by
listening to the feedback of our community and making sure to know what people
like about the glasses -- like the super cool design factor, hands-free
functionality, and the open-ear sound -- and areas we could improve on, like
the overall quality of media and comfort. We've upgraded all the core features
of the previous generation and added some innovative features that had never
been offered on smart glasses before.
Here are a few highlights:
Audio quality has been improved
The new custom-designed speakers have a greater bass, a
higher volume, and better directionality audio, which reduces loss of audio for
better music, calls, and podcasts even in windy or noisy conditions. If you're
recording a video, our new five-microphone array is designed to support
immersive audio recording, which means you'll have the ability to record audio
exactly the way you first felt it whether from the front in the front, on the
sides, from the rear, or even over.
Share your perspective
The new ultra-wide 12MP camera converts into better quality
images and videos of 1080p lasting up to 60 seconds, which means that whether
you're enjoying stunning views while hiking or enjoying yourself at an art
exhibition the proof of your efforts will be just as spectacular as the real
thing. You can also directly send pictures with family and friends through your
glasses using an easy "send a photo" voice command.

Ray-Ban Meta's smart glasses run the new Qualcomm Snapdragon
AR1 Gen1 Platform that allows for higher-quality
processing of videos and photos, and faster computation. They also
include a newly designed and sleek charging case that can accommodate up to 8
additional charges (for an overall total of 36 hours of wear) but is lighter
and slimmer than.

Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses feature the classic Wayfarer
style you've come to have come to love, and the brand new Headliner design that
gives retro-inspired style comes with Matte Black and Shiny Black. We're also
introducing 3 new transparent frame colors: Jeans, Rebel Black, and Caramel
which highlight the technological inside. With over 150 customized lens and
frame combinations in Ray-Ban's Ray-Ban Remix platform, you can mix and match
to make your glasses unique on ray-ban.com. Also, they're prescription lens
compatible.
The glasses are comfortable and controlled
The glasses have been reduced in the amount of weight the
glasses carry as well as reduced the size of the glasses in all directions to
make glasses lighter and more comfortable. They are also waterproof (IPX4). We
have also enhanced the touchpad and added earphones so that glasses respond
faster and more accurately to your instructions.
Livestreaming hands-free
It is now possible to livestream using your glasses on Facebook
and Instagram. You can view the comments on your preview or hold and
tap on the sides of your glasses and hear the comments loudly to interact with
your followers while being present.
Meta AI
We've incorporated Meta AI our sophisticated conversational
assistant, into Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses and optimized it to provide an easy,
hands-free on-the-go. When you say "Hey Meta," you can talk to Meta
AI to inspire ideas, gather details, and even control features simply by using
your voice. Meta AI features will be accessible in the US as a beta feature
only at the time of launch.
