It's official: the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is over However, it definitely has us all in the mood for autumn fashion since I continue to get inquiries about the latest fashions for fall. Everyone is eager to know what's new and what's not, when we look through our wardrobes and decide what's left and what's gone and what we might want to include in preparation for the autumn season.
I'm feeling like this autumn is seeing many similar trends
we saw last season, however we're focusing on those trends that were considered
to be at the margin last season. There's plenty of crossovers with the autumn
fashion trends However, there were some that were difficult to find in big
stores until the beginning of autumn and I'm seeing them everywhere. There are
some new trends too... Ahem leopard.
A Word About Fashion Trends
As usual, I'm required to provide a few disclaimers when
discussing fashion trends. The first is that I'm focusing on the popular stores
where everyday females who visit this blog are likely to shop. Based on where
you live it could be that certain of them are going to be sold out and others
aren't. You may not have seen anyone wearing them just yet however, they're
everywhere in mainstream stores like Evereve, LOFT, Anthropologie and many
more.
But, just because something is "having a moment"
doesn't suggest that you should wear it. It's just information you can be able
to use however you want. Fashionable women are aware of what's hot and select
to include into their wardrobes ones that are most compatible with their own
personal style and body type and lifestyle.
This isn't intended to be a comprehensive listing of the
latest trends in fall. A lot of items I haven't listed on this list are still
popular however, they are those that have stood out to me at this point and
those which resonate the most with my personal style.
The bottom line is that at the end your day, dress in the
way you like regardless of what "trend reports" say. If you're
interested in being aware of what's trending Here are 12 trendy fashions for
the fall of 2024 for women who are just everyday.

The widgets at the bottom of each section offer additional
details of the trends, for your convenience shopping. I made sure to cover a

Wide Leg Jeans
You already knew that I needed to get started there, didn't
ya? Yes, my dears are wearing wide leg silhouettes that remain the most popular
in jeans departments of my favorite stores, and I'm gradually seeing more
normal women sporting these styles. I'm also seeing more full length
silhouettes appearing on the scene in fall and I'm extremely happy with that
since I find them to be much more easy to pair with boots or other closed-toe
footwear. Additionally, they're more elongating and flattering on a majority of
women.
We'll discuss further fashions in denim later this week
however, if you're not an advocate of wide leg jeans, almost any style is
acceptable at the moment. Fashion is more about the way you dress your jeans,
not the type of jeans you're wearing.
Cropped Jackets
Jackets that complete fall outfits 2024 are essential for my fall
wardrobe and these cropped jackets are making an appearance probably due to the
fact that they work perfectly with high-rise and wide-leg jeans. I also love
how they look with flares or Straight leg denim. I'm finding everything from
twills to wool blends and denim is everywhere too.
Skirts
After being off the of the list for a number of years,
skirts have returned as a major fashion category for the fall 2024 season. I'm
seeing plenty of skirts made from denim of all lengths, but the straight long
styles are all over the place. The shiny bias-cut skirts still in fashion,
while pleated skirts are getting more popular. Mini skirts are also in fashion.
The skirts can be paired with anything from sneakers to knee
boots and even pointed toe slingbacks, to squared off Mary Janes. They are
suitable for formal and casual occasions.
Vests
Vests were in high demand for spring However, they were
difficult to find, and the top ones were sold out quickly. In the fall, they're
all over the place. I've seen a lot of suit vests like the one above. Sweater
vests aren't going away too.
Use your vests as stand-alone tops and put them on over an
t-shirt or tank in the autumn. In terms of what to wear with them I'm seeing
lots of vests (both suits and sweater vests) worn with denim skirts as seen
above. They look fantastic when paired with jeans. You can pair them with
trousers (matching or not) to create a formal style for dinners or at work.
out.
Breton Stripes
Stripes will be a staple throughout the fall season, with a
particular emphasis on Breton stripes. This is a simple method to add a new
piece to your wardrobe. There are plenty of options to choose from different
widths and designs that flatter all body types.
Pop of Red
We'll be discussing colors later in the week however, red is
the most prominent color on all the lists of trends. While there are many Red
clothes as well as dresses but I believe it's more important to add an
accessory with red to add a splash of color. Consider a red sneaker or the
one-of-a-kind red Mary Jane (as shown above) as well as an sling bag in red or
a red belt and even a ball cap in red.
Trousers
The relaxed trousers are still in style this season. The
most fashionable option of wearing them would be by wearing sneakers to add
that trendy aspect of contrast, but this is also a good option for those in
need of workwear. There are a lot of great alternative options for denim that
are available today.
If you're not a fan of the loose silhouettes, you can choose
straight and flared versions and. These The LOFT Sutton Flares I wore in spring
have returned for autumn with subtle black and brown checked pattern.
Ladylike Shoes
Pointed-toe flats as well as kitten heels particularly those
with slingbacks, are a big trend this season, along with Mary Janes or ballet
pumps. Dress them up with jeans to create an elegant element of contrast and
pair with skirts or dresses to take a step into fashion's "era of
elegance" that is taking off.
Textured Knitwear
I've not seen this mentioned by any trends lists I've seen,
but I did notice, when browsing through my top stores, that there's more
patterns and texture in knitwear. The pendulum for trends is shifting towards
more intriguing features and less minimalistic designs.
Brown Footwear & Accessories
Brown shades, and particularly rich chocolate tones are
dominating the realm of footwear this season. I saw this trend earlier this
year, but this is getting a boost for the fall of 2024 and I'm excited about
it. After a long time of wearing many light and taupe I'm feeling like these
darker, warmer hues are refreshing and enjoyable. They are also a great match
with darker denim washes that are returning this season.
Leopard Print
Yes, the leopard went away for just a moment but it's
returning. I can't help but notice it. It's been on nearly every 2024 fall
Trends list I've come across, and almost all major retailers are selling
leopard prints in one form or an alternative.
Perhaps you're considering: Leopard was never gone. It's an
iconic film.
Yes, leopard is an iconic print is available all the time
However, it was experiencing an incredible moment some time ago that it
completely disappeared from major retailers. It's what happens when a fashion
becomes popular all at the same time. As with all fashions, when it's
introduced again, it will look a bit different than it did last time it was on
the scene.
Leopard prints that are this time look more sophisticated to
me and are a bit more sophisticated and abstract. So if you've got leopard
prints in your wardrobe, and you're wondering if the are trendy and not. The
best recommendation I've heard is to check them with what you're looking at in
the shops that best reflect your style.
I've given every animal print I have away, including my
favorite ATM cheetah t-shirt which I cherished for a number of seasons. So I'm
beginning with a clean slate in this area. I'm not planning to purchase many
leopard pieces this year, but I could consider adding a few carefully selectedaccessories to the fall outfit.
Final Thoughts on What's IN for Fall 2024
There are bound to be more fall fashion trends in 2024 but
these are a few of the most well-known ones I've seen thus far. I'll go into
further fashion trends in shoes, color trends denim trends, color trends, and
accessories in future posts.
Be aware that trends are only that. They change Some last
more than others. If it's not for you then just leave it out. Not sure? Check
it out using an item that is less costly before committing to a more expensive
product. If any of these styles appeal to you You might want to explore them a
bit more in the coming months.
Fall Fashion Trends: What's OUT For 2024
I was about to delete this category this year due to the
fashion cycles are changing fast, and nothing is truly "out" exactly.
In reality, certain styles might seem old for some or might not be as popular
in the stores. Just as "What's IN for 2024" This list must be
considered with a grain of salt.
Nobody is telling you not to put on your favorite high-shaft
taupe ankle boots that have cut-outs to the sides. You do you. If you're
looking to learn about the trends which are being pushed back to the hottest
fashions of the moment I think this is a decent starting point.
